The theme in Augusta revolves around the relationship between our intuitiveness and our rationality, establishing a parallel with the feminine and masculine energies, Yin and Yang. The intuitive feminine energy,Yin, is represented by the deep, concave body, from the world of subjectivity, the unconscious and emotions, which is concealed in the most hidden layers of our being. The rational masculine energy, Yang, is represented by the convex body, which externalizes, realizes, materializes. The two opposing elements in Augusta fit together perfectly, complementing each other, reaching balance. Paola brings some of the laws that combine Yin and Yang to the piece: All contraries are complementary; no two things are absolutely the same; everything has its front and its back; the front and the back are proportionally the same size;  everything has a beginning and an end.
